Mandala(s)

A mandala (Sanskrit: मण्डल, lit, circle) is a spiritual and ritual symbol in different religions, representing the universe.
Its was also widely used by different people to understand different perspectives.

In common use, "mandala" has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe

This same root is used in English to describe ourselves we say man+kind which means an essence within a kindred;

A man+(u)script is an essence expressed though words. A man+tra is an essence captured within a sound. The word mandala itself comes from the ancient text of Sanskrit and is derived of the root  ‘man+da+la’ which means container which holds the essence (Aura).

Ever since the festival excitement started, there are a lot of questions regarding what is a mandala ? how can one classify or understand a mandala ?

A Mandala is space/symbol of a COLLECTION of different things from the universe. Its a microcosm of the universe itself.

Mandala is a space/symbol of collection with a specific boundary (Enclosure). Its used to support the mind to understand the structural part of the perspective.

for example:
A flower is a collection of different petals,.. etc.
A tree is a collection of its branch and leaves,.. etc.
A idea is a collection of thoughts,.. etc.
A family is a collection of people together,.. etc.
A book is a collection of pages,.. etc.
A song is a collection of sounds,.. etc.
A human body is a collection of muscles, bones etc.
Mind is a collection of memory, thoughts, intelligence etc.
A story is a collection of incidents etc. described by the author
A ceiling fan is a mandala both in terms of visual representation as well as the mechanics
A Dish,
A festival,
A day,
A clock,
An hour,
A process,
A class room
A forest
A garden
A Farm
A talk
A plan
A mountain
A volcano
A thunder storm
An earthquake
A community living together
A bee hive
A flock of birds
A road map
A group of dancers, marathon runners,
A house, a home,
Drama
Dance
Marathon, hockey, basketball, football
An experience.. etc.

You can also see different dimensions in the same mandala

for example:A human being playing football. The game football is a mandala, each player is a mandala, the ground is a mandala, the team all together is a mandala, both teams together is a mandala, goal keeper is a mandala with a certain perspective.

In short: Mandala is a perspective of a collective.

Everything in the universe can be viewed as a Mandala or different mandalas, separately or together with convergence or expansion, interdependent or independent or dependent.

For the mandala festival we use only mandala's which can be photographed and written about.
